Joanne
Warfield, Director of Exhibitions
WIPI Welcomes Joanne Warfield aboard as the first Director of Exhibitions.
As her first project, she is organizing and directing WIPI's participation
in the prestigious photo l.a. exhibition at the Santa Monica Civic--see
show details in the f2 eZine Exhibition Highlights. Joanne brings with
her 30 years of experience in the art field as a Fine Art dealer and
the owner/director of several galleries showcasing nationally acclaimed
artists in monthly exhibitions. She has also served as a museum arts
council member, was the principal restoration consultant for several
historic
landmarks in Los Angeles, and built the corporate art collection for
Epson America's Headquarters from 1986-88.
Joanne's photography roots began when she studied under Brett Weston
in the late 1960's in Monterey, California. Since 1995, working as a
photographic artist has become her passion and new career. In the past
two years she has exhibited in many shows, garnering accolades and awards.
Her innovative Polaroid processes and technical notes will be featured
throughout an advanced Polaroid technique book due out in 2002. She
is our magazine's January 2002 featured
Professional artist in the Gallery section where you can see 12 of her
images, or link to her web site to view the collection.
Jean Ferro, WIPI President, is confident that "opportunities will
soar to new heights for Women In Photography International with the
addition of Joanne as Director of Exhibitions. We are pleased she is
part of our wonderful organization, helping to expand the recognition
and importance of women working in the photographic arts."
