Carolyn C. Meltzer is a fine arts photographer specializing in nature
imagery. Her work takes full advantage of natural light, and emphasizes
vibrant and often abstract and insular views of our world through a
shallow depth of field. Subjects are portrayed using close range
or macro techniques in order to capture the dynamism of a small world
few may notice. The work is printed on archival watercolor paper, which
helps to enhance its realistic and simultaneously surrealistic qualities.
Meltzer’s photography has been featured in multiple venues, including
solo and group shows and juried exhibits.
Meltzer recently collaborated with the renowned New York-based visual
artist Anne Patterson to produce “Inspiration Echoed” at
Atlanta’s Woodruff Arts Center, in which photographer and painter
amplify each media’s tribute to nature through a series of paired
works. Meltzer’s work resides in private collections in Atlanta,
Baltimore, Philadelphia, Boston, and Charlotte.
