Fine Art, Black & White Photographs
Darcie Goldberg is a professional photographer with over 30 years
experience. Her extensive travels and strong award winning
B&W photographs have been featured in solo exhibitions, as well
as in public and private collections.
Born in Erie, Pennsylvania, Goldberg studied photography at the
Art Institute of Pittsburgh before going to work for UPI.
After several years of freelance work and teaching B&W film
and darkroom, she completed her Masters in the Creative Arts at
Hahnemann University, Philadelphia.
She was the Executive Director of the Chester County Art Association
for 17 years and recently completed a lateral move to Facility Development
Director where she will lead CCAA’s Capital Campaign for renovations.
She continues to pursue her photography through documentation of
her travels and exhibitions to exotic locations. She specializes
in B&W handmade silver gelatin prints. Inspired by a recent
trip to Cuba, she plans to pursue documentary and street photography
with digital images and reproductions, as well as medium format
film and photographs.
She lives in West Chester, Pennsylvania.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Chester County Art Association West
Chester, PA
Executive Director (4/98 – 01/2014)
Responsibilities include the overseeing of the education programming,
exhibitions, budgets, staff, faculty, membership, fundraising, community
outreach programs, grant writings and daily operations.
* Created popular art education programs throughout the year for
children and adults including summer art camps with an increase
in enrollment from 120 students to over 3,000 participants and expanded
from one to three sites.
* More than doubled the faculty from 20 to 50 independent contractors,
which has increased and elevated education programs internally and
extended community outreach.
* Increased exhibitions to include more group participation and
solo exhibitions with artists from the Delaware Valley and nationally
known artists such as Tom Bostelle, John Suplee, Adrian Martinez,
Maria Keane and many other reputable artists.
* Arranged and hosted a private viewing for First Lady Laura Bush
of Adrian Martinez solo exhibition which also included a black tie
preview party.
* Tripled operational budgets and maintained balanced budgets, increasing
memberships by 62%, endowment by 100 %.
* Created and implemented ongoing year-round fundraising events,
including black tie galas, annual appeals, matching fund campaign,
Latin dance night, Venetian Ball, which has increased the budget
by 72%.
* Created a first ever satellite branch in the Exton Square Mall
over the holiday season offering 150 free art classes bringing more
education programs to the public including drawing, painting, clay,
mosaics.
* Created a corporate art outreach program rotating artwork in corporate
board rooms, lobbies and conference rooms. Within one year
increased art sales by 25%.
* Developed a scholarship program so no one is turned away from
any art education class at CCAA or outreach locations.
* Reinstated a public arts program to celebrate CCAA’s 75th
anniversary, which included creating a film documenting the accomplishments
and history of CCAA. Created a county-wide display of 75 planters
created by local artists and art groups and maintained by local
area garden clubs.
* Created a database system to manage membership and enrollment
for CCAA’s education programs and for artists participating
in CCAA’s exhibitions
* Provided management leadership to achieve recognition locally
and nationally, including Honoree for Arts and Business Management
2001 and Arts Partnership Award 2006 from the Philadelphia Arts
Business Council and the Bravo Award for Art Education for Children
2000. Also, winner of National Chalk It Up Award for large parking
lot chalk mural recreation of Andy Warhol’s Elephant.
* Competed in the Philadelphia Flower Show in competitive classes
(2005- present). Recreating paintings and art displays to
the world’s largest flower show and oldest flower show in
the United States. CCAA is the only art center participating
in this yearly event. Awards include: Best of the Blues,
Silver Bowl, First, Second and Class Accommodation Acknowledgments.
