Monica Kane Stewart

Monica Kane Stewart
is a portrait and fine art photographer, mixed media artist, and designer who resides in the North County coastal area of San Diego. After a career of 15+ years working with technology in Silicon Valley in the San Francisco Bay Area, Monica earned her Bachelor's Degree in Visual Arts with a Studio emphasis, while raising her three children. She came full circle from working with technology to creating studio art, to the perfect combination of both technology and art in her photography work.

Monica's approach to fine art landscape portraiture is both spontaneous and process-driven. She creates artwork from her initial captured image(s) as she would create sculptures and paintings: process-driven, and time intensive post-processing & treatments.

Monica prefers hand editing versus working with pre-defined recipes & actions, as again the time-consuming editing process (which develops spontaneously and not pre-planned) is part of the creation of the final piece.

Her images tell stories through the interactions among individuals, as well as their interaction with their surrounding space, landscape, and situation. She tends toward a quiet minimalist landscape that features one or more people, and draws out the relationship between landscape and person.

Along with her own artistic style, her finished products draw from her experience creating sculpture, installation art, and painting.

Ok, I'm so confused. I thought there was no ability to update the photos
in my gallery / yale listing. Mine are sooooo outdated of my work.
But that's what I understood. So I took no action. My bio doesn't need
any updates.
Is everything complete? Do you need anything from me?
Does WIPI no longer exist?

Thanks,
Monica
